Ajith was born in Secunderabad and moved to
Chennai on 1st August 1973. This city will
always be home to him no matter what people
think. He has lived in Mandaveli, Alwarpet
and currently resides in Thiruvanmiyur.
Academics and Ajith just don’t mix.
He studied in Asan Memorial School and loved
it provided he wasn’t expected to keep
his nose to a book. He loved games but studies
were just not happening for him and he flunked
his class X board exams and had to retake
them in another school!
Vijay and Ajith have been seen in only film
together – Rajavin Parvaiyilae. Ajith
is Vijay’s best friend in the film and
kills himself when his love is unsuccessful,
leaving Vijay scarred for life. Vijay’s
mother used to send yummy homemade meals for
both the boys and Ajith still talks about
her cooking skills and has a big soft spot
for her.
Ajith has worked for a motoring company in
Teynampet. It was felt that there was no future
for him in this field and he was hustled into
a garment export factory. Ajith was headed
for corporate success when the company unfortunately
went bust. The youngster had incurred a few
debts and took up motor sports which led to
him being given modeling opportunities and
films followed. The rest as they say is history
and a star was born.
