During the shooting of Kandein, which was
progressing at a resort on the ECR near
Chennai, Shantanu nearly drowned. The mishap
happened when a scene in which Shantanu
and the villain ‘Cool’ Suresh fight on the
seashore and the hero had to haul him into
the seas.
Unfortunately, a huge wave swept Shantanu
and dragged him into waters. Immediately,
the crew and ‘Cool’ Suresh swung into action
and rescued Shantanu. The actor was however
unconscious when they pulled him back to
the shore and had to be admitted to a private
hospital for treatment, where he is now
recovering.
