Yes, they did, for the launch of Endhiran
audio release. Namma Superstar Rajnikanth,
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, director Shankar,
Kalanidhi Maran, along with the Endhiran
crew, were all in Malaysia to grace the
occasion. With fans screaming in support,
the stars walked the red carpet. The host
of the show, Vivek had the fans and stars
in splits with his usual sense of humor
and one liners.
Just imagine the response when Rajnikanth
said "Ella pughazhum iraivanukke"
at the start of his speech. Praising the
Malaysian fans for their support, he said
the four heroes of the function are Kalanidhi
Maran, Shankar, Aishwarya Rai and AR Rahman.
He also specifically thanked STR, Jeyam
Ravi, Radharavi, Sivasakthi Pandian, Ramya
Krishnan and Vadivelu for coming down from
Chennai. The usually shy superstar heaped
praises on Ash. "There will be no other
beauty like Aishwarya in our generation.
She is an artiste. A born artist,"
was his opinion about her. He concluded
by saying "Amitabh is watching from
there and warning me not to praise her too
much," much to the amusement of the
fans.
Vanakkam, Salamat datang... apa kabar, Namashkar
and Good evening... This is Aishwarya Rai’s
welcome note. With special mention to Kalanidhi
Maran, Shankar, Vairamuthu, AR Rahman, she
thanked all the cast and crew for their
help and support. Almost down the stage,
she came running back to thank the Endhiran.
Describing him as an epitome of patience,
humility and legendary, she said it was
just an honor working with someone like
Rajni. A shy Aishwarya was wondering what
to say when a fan screamed "I love
you" when Vivek intervened and replied
"You too?" having everyone burst
with laughter.
The usually reclusive AR Rahman kept his
speech short and sweet. Recalling that recording
session with his daughter after midnight
(as usual is what he said), the proud daddy
was beaming with delight. He said Kathija
skipped school next day using the late recording
session as an excuse.
With the audio released, there is another
question which needs an answer. If the audio
released was held in Malaysia, where will
the movie premiere be held? Well...
