50 - Oru Thodarum Sarithiram –
the Kamal Express was flagged off
from the AVM Studios on August 24,
2009 at 11:30am. Those present at
the inaugural ceremony were A. V.
M. Saravannan (Producer AVM Studios),
Mr. Ramanarayanan (President of
the Tamil Film Producers’
Council) and V. C. Guganathan (President
of the FEFSI). Kamal’s younger
daughter Akshara Haasan and Gowthami’s
daughter Subulakshmi were also present
at the event.
Akshara Haasan said, “He has
created a great standard in acting.
We need to work very hard to achieve
that standard and live up to his
expectation. I congratulate Dr.
Padmashree Kamal Haasan on completing
50 successful years in cinema.”
Subbulakshmi said, “I applaud
my dad for this great achievement.
He is a living icon to me.”
Two specially designed Volvo buses
would cover the entire Tamil Nadu
including the actor’s home
town Paramakudi.

Chidambaram, Mayavaram, Karaikal,
Nagapatinam, Kumbakonam, Tanjore,

Tirunelvelli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari,
Tenkasi, Sivakasi, Bodi and Theni.
