Kandein Kadhalai’s audio
launch function was held at the
Satyam Theatre complex today (August
14th). While the audio was released
by Kalaipuli S Dhanu, it was received
by the Jab We Met director Imtiaz
Ali and a host of other directors
present at the venue. Incidentally,
Kandein Kadhalai is a remake of
the Bollywood film Jab We Met and
the director had flown down for
the event.
At the audio launch, all the directors
who were successful in giving smash
hits since 2008 were honored. Directors
of Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu (Susindran),
Naadodigal (Samuthirakani), Pasanga
(Pandiraj), Ayan (KV Anand), Cheran
(Pokkisham) and others were present
at the event. The show organizers
invited all the hit directors, especially
the ones that are remaking the films
in other languages.
Imtiaz Ali said that after viewing
three of the songs in KK, he realized
that director Kannan had rectified
all the errors that he had made
in the original version. He hoped
that the director would have corrected
all the mistakes that he had done
in Jab We Met.
Cheran praised Imtiaz for his bold
speech and accepting his mistakes
openly. Speaking at the event, director
Perarasu said that his nickname
– Oorarasu – in Kollywood
was due to director Kannan. He recounted
that he chose the name Girivalam.
But Kannan refused to part with
the title and hence he decided on
Thirupachi. With the film’s
success, Perarasu said he decided
on naming all his films with the
names of places.
The Kandein Kadhalai’s songs
that were featured at the venue
ensured that Kollywood is on the
verge of getting a fresh onscreen
couple with oodles on screen chemistry.
