The All India Film Workers Association
will hold a conference on October
9, 10 and 11. A press meet was held
in Chennai, in which the Producers’
Council President Rama Narayanan,
the FEFSI President VC Guhanathan
and ace film director K Balachander
participated.
At the press meet, it is was disclosed
that all the film related work,
including shootings, will come to
a standstill on these three days
to facilitate the entire film industry
folks to participate in the conference.
The first day of the conference,
which will begin with an inauguration
ceremony, will take place at the
Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The chief
minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi
is expected to grace the occasion.
A cultural fest with several actors
and actresses is also planned. The
location for the second day will
be the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam
where several issues including the
work timings, will be discussed.
An election to select the president,
vice-president and office bearers
for the All India Film Workers Association
will be held on the concluding day.
