Many moons ago stalwarts Kamal Hassan and
Rajinikanth acted together and all the films
in which they were cast together had strong
roles for both of them. In the 80s and 90s
films were made with single heroes and made
stars out of them. But now, double hero subjects
are back in vogue for several upcoming movies
have two heroes! Most recently, KV Anand’s
Ko starred Jiiva and Ajmal and both their
roles won acclaim. Here are a few more in
that list:
• Vaanam: Vaanam releasing
this Friday has Silambarasan and Bharath in
the lead. It is directed by Krish and is a
remake of Telugu film Vedam which starred
Allu Arjun and Manoj Manchu. Apart for the
leads Vaanam has a huge star cast consisting
of Anushka, Vega, Prakash Raj, Sonia Agarwal
and Saranya.
• Avan Ivan: Critically
acclaimed director Bala is known for his thought
provoking serious movies but his upcoming
venture Avan Ivan is touted to be a full length
comedy. Arya and Vishal play the lead roles
in the film. Vishal has acted as a squint
eyed man in this film and is already being
praised by everyone for the effort.
• Muran: Lately in
news for having impressed the authorities
in U TV, Rajan Madhav’s Muran stars
talented actors Cheran and Prasanna. All of
the film’s rights have been brought
by U TV and it has aroused people’s
curiosity.
• Vettai: Lingusamy
is directing Arya and Madhavan in Vettai and
they are playing brothers in this film. The
crew shot in Karaikudi for most of the film
along with heroines Sameera Reddy and Amala
Paul.
Several other movies might join this list
for young heroes seem to show keen interest
in teaming up together. The audiences are
definitely ready for these two in one delights!
