The High Court of Madras came down heavily upon director SA Chandrasekar for demeaning the High Judges in Sattapadi Kuttram. Further, in a petition filed by the Hindu Dharma Shakthi’s Secretary Deva Senathypathy, it has been stated that scenes depicting Hindu ascetics as terrorists and police killing them in an encounter hurts the sentiments of the Hindus world-over.
The scene in which a corrupt High Court judge is kidnapped by the youth and threatens him to deliver judgments according to their whims and fancies was also criticized by the High Court Judge Jyothimani.
Justice Jyothimani has demanded an explanation from the Censor Board on why the certification issued to Sattapadi Kuttram not be cancelled and has ordered the Board to file a petition on or before April 11, 2011.
