A
group of Tamil cinema directors,
led by Bharathiraja and Seeman,
will be undertaking a tour of Tamil
Nadu on a political campaign of
a different kind. They will not
be supporting any political party,
instead will urge the people to
not vote for any Congress candidate.
The constituencies where they will
be focusing most of their energies
are Salem, Erode and Sivagangai,
which are generally considered as
the Congress Party’s strongholds,
mainly due to the big names contesting
from those places.
K.V. Thangabalu, EVKS Elangovan
and the current Union Home Minister
P Chidambaram are the contestants
from these three constituencies,
respectively. It will be interesting
to see the people’s response
in the election to the directions
given by the directors. Will they
prevail over the big and experienced
names from the party in power at
the center? |
