Director
Seeman, who had been languishing
in jail for several months, is finally
out on bail. It may be recalled
that Seeman was arrested for his
speeches that were considered to
be against the sovereignty of India.
The High Court of Madras recently
held that Seeman’a arrest
under the National Security Act
was not valid. However, he could
not be released from jail, as yet
another case, registered in Puducherry
was pending against him. This case
came up for hearing yesterday, and
Seeman was granted bail facilitating
his release.
The director, soon after his release,
participated in the audio launch
function of Mayandi Kudumbathar
in which he plays a prominent role.
The film is directed by Rasu Madhuvaran
and has nine other directors apart
from Seeman. |
