In a first of its kind initiative, actor
Kamal Haasan has tied up with the Indian
Institute of Technology to conduct an
international workshop and seminar on
screen writing. According to a press
release, only serious candidates with
basic qualifications will be considered
for the workshop. About 250 candidates
will be selected for this workshop.
This week long class will be conducted
at the IIT-M campus from May 29th to
June 3rd. Jean Claude Carriere, an ace
writer, will participate in the workshop
to share his experiences through video
conferencing. Apart from this, Kamal
will also take part in the discussions.
The screenwriting workshop will be conducted
by K. Hariharan, Director of the L.V.
Prasad Film and TV Academy, Anjum Rajabali,
Professional screenwriter and head of
departments of screenwriting at Film
and TV Institute, Pune and Whistling
Woods, Mumbai and Atul Tiwari, Professional
screenwriter and well known playwright.
Candidates can send in their resumes
with passport size photos and a 200-word
synopsis on their favorite film and
a list of five of their favorite films
