Complainant Rajapandian’s advocate
stressed that the story belonged to his
client and it has been used without his
permission. Therefore, he pleaded before
the court to stay the release of the film.
The defendant’s advocate rebutted
the charges stating that there is no similarity
between the stories and offered to showcase
the film to the magistrate to gain insight
into the issue.
On hearing both the parties the magistrate
declined to stay the release of the film
but ordered to send notice to other defendants
– director Madhesh, producer LK. Suthish
and the Central Censor Board – as
they are all vital in deciding the case.
They are expected to file a counter on or
before 23 April 2008.
