No such release in the history of Kerala

Mammootty’s film Annan Thambi, which has the mega star in dual role, released on 17th April, 2008 set a new precedents in the film history of Kerala. As per government rules, all movies to be released should be screened only after 11 am. Relaxing this rule to satisfy the star’s fans, Annan Thampi was showcased at 8 am at the Kairali Theatre in

Thiruvananthapuram, which incidentally is owned by the government. Another theatre in Thanoor, TVS, also screened the film at 3:30 am. It is to be noted that never in the history of Kerala has there been a show screened this early in the day. Now, that’s real star power!
