Diwali was an absolute delight for the 250
Behindwoods visitors who got free tickets
for the FDFS of Velayudham at various theatres
in Chennai; all winners of the special Diwali
contest conducted by Behindwoods. A Vijay
film release is a festival in its own right
and to add to the joy of things it was also
Diwali. The atmosphere was electric with excitement
as the winners, most of them ardent Vijay
fans, arrived as early as 8 a.m for the first
show scheduled at 8.30 at the Fame National
multiplex in Valasarawakkam.
The audience was rapturous as the film began;
it is not very often that one gets an opportunity
to watch a Vijay film FDFS, especially on
Diwali day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the
complete mass entertainer served by Vijay
and Raja, all the songs bringing out huge
rounds of applause.
Obviously, everybody had enjoyed the deft
package of entertainment. The winners were
also treated to a biriyani lunch by Behindwoods
and also received a gift pack of crackers,
personally autographed by Vijay; what better
gift for the festival of lights, especially
when it is handed out by the director of the
film, Raja. Speaking to the audience he said
that the film was getting good reports from
all over and that it looked like, the performance
might exceed even their biggest expectations.
The audience also eagerly shared their opinions
on Velayudham with Behindwoods. Most of them
said that it was wonderful to watch such an
entertainer on Diwali and the gifts received
from Raja, autographed by Vijay had made their
Diwali special and memorable.
Altogether, it was an event and a movie which
suitably justified the festive mood of the
day. Everyone who had come should definitely
have felt that one of the most special days
of the year had been spent in a memorable
way. The only thing that might have been missing
was perhaps a round of fireworks; but then,
that is not possible within the plush interiors
of the Fame National multiplex, who graciously
hosted the Behindwoods winners on the big
day! The fireworks however, were provided
by the hooded and suited Vijay on screen and
by the excited claps of all the fans as they
saw their matinee idol go berserk on screen.
