With just a couple of weeks left for the release of
‘Siruthai’, the entire crew including
Karthi, director Siva, producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja,
cinematographer Velraj, co-producers S.R. Prakash
Babu and S.R. Prabhu and executives of Airtel were
present at the Residency Towers in Chennai for the
press meet of Siruthai.
Brave attempt
Karthi confessed that his dual role in ‘Siruthai’
is a brave attempt as the actor feels that he has
done something far beyond his usual traits. Talking
about the characterization of IPS officer Rathinavel,
Karthi admitted that he took a lot of care to present
himself in a naturalistic way. It nearly took a week’s
time for Karthi to dub for the portions of IPS officer
as the voice modulation had to be completely different
from other role ‘Rocket Raja’.
70% Comedy – 30% Action
“Don’t look out for logic, just sit back
and enjoy this fun-filled entertainer during the festive
occasion of Pongal”, says Karthi. Throwing more
light on the commercial ingredients of ‘Siruthai’,
Karthi added that 70% of the film is filled with comedy
while 30% will have breathtaking action sequences.
The comedy portions, involving Karthi and Santhanam,
are expected to be the biggest assets of this movie.
Siruthai has two heroines
Karthi-Thamannah’s onscreen chemistry was the
talking point after the success of ‘Paiyaa’.
Karthi surprised everyone saying that there’s
another heroine in the film. The girl happens to be
none other than little girl Rakshana. He distinctly
uttered that Thamannah has nothing special to perform
as she carries the role of usual heroines in commercial
movies. But Rakshana has a powerful role as she happens
to be the twist in the tale.
‘I’d like to marry a girl like
Tamannah’
While delineating the character of Thamannah, Karthi
said that she is a good looking girl, but unintelligent
for she would believe anything. When asked Karthi
whether he prefers a girl of that nature in real life,
he came up with a jocular statement, “Everyone
loves to have such wife, who doesn’t question
her husband.”
Thanks to my critics
“Film critics have played a special role in
shaping my career. I am constantly going by their
advice and criticisms that has paved a great way for
me”, said Karthi. He mentioned that he has started
focusing on his dancing skills after going by their
words. He has shed his weight and has decided to step
out of dirty looks. Karthi signed off saying “Thanks
to all media networks for rendering their support
and I believe you would take make ‘Siruthai’
a successful movie”.
Surprise for Telugu audiences
Producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green Films
mentioned that director Siva has added newer sequences
to the remake version. Even if the film is dubbed
in Telugu, the audiences would feel the big difference
between the original (Vikramakudu) and ‘Siruthai’.
Promotional Extravaganza
Siruthai has leaped to a great start with decent promotional
campaigns, as Airtel has joined hands with Studio
Green Films. Karthi made the official announcement
held this noon (January 3, 2010) during the media
interaction session. The actor was gleeful over Airtel
taking an active participation in promoting the film
at 360 Degrees dimension.
