Silambarasan starrer Osthi hit the floors today
at the AVM Studios today morning. It began with
the customary pooja and later Silambarasan’s
dad and actor-producer-director T Rajendar began
the proceedings by handing over the clap board.
The film’s cast and crew were present during
this event. Speaking at the function, Revathy said
that she is happy to accept roles though they are
small, if its gives her the potential to exhibit
her acting talents.
Director Dharani said that when he saw Dabangg,
he instantly felt that this movie should be made
in Tamil. And the script work also came out well
much to the satisfaction of the producer. The director,
however, made it clear that this would not be a
remake, but can be termed as an adaptation. He revealed
that several changes have been made to the script
to suit the Tamil audiences and STR’s fans.
STR termed himself as a huge fan of Salman Khan,
the hero in Dabangg. The star said that he never
missed any Salman’s films till now and when
Dabangg was released he made sure to watch the film.
Fascinated by the storyline, he decided to play
Salman’s role. Silambarasan said that he would
join the Osthi film unit from next month onwards
as he needs to do some homework on playing a police
officer. On choosing Jithan Ramesh to play his brother,
STR said that he could not think of anyone else
to play that role.
Jithan Ramesh finished off the proceedings by saying
that he is happy to be a part of such a huge star
cast.
