The Muran team held a press meet to brief the journos
about this upcoming flick. There was excitement
in the air especially since director Rajjan Madhav
promised those present that Muran will be something
of a shock as the story is very unpredictable and
will keep you guessing to the fag end.
According to the director, Muran is a racy road
trip film and a psychological thriller to boot.
It is about two guys, Nandha (Cheran) and Arjun
(Prasanna) whose paths cross by chance and they
leave an indelible imprint on each other’s
lives. One of them prefers to drift where life takes
him whereas the others knows what he wants and has
no qualms about going after it.
Cheran revealed that he read the entire script in
one sitting as it was so engrossing and he knew
he wanted to be a part of this film. He added that
Prasanna was perfectly cast and had an enviable
role. Prasanna said that Muran will be the film
that he will be identified with in the future.
Producer UTV Dhananjayan said that he believed in
the project from the first when he heard about it
while still with Moser Baer. The film changed hands
in the middle but ultimately returned to his hands
and he could not be happier about it.
The trailer was played and three songs were screened.
The music be Sajjan Madhav was well received and
it was generally agreed that the songs were shot
beautifully. Editing by Arun Durairaj in the songs
was particularly noteworthy. Cinematography by Padmesh
was also appreciated. Production controller, C Prabhu
also did a wonderful job to coordinate this event.
Nikita Thukral, Haripriya and Jayapraksh round out
this stellar cast. Word is that the film is inspired
by Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers On A Train.
Going by the trailer, Muran seems to be quite fascinating.
