Actor Vimal who has been riding high on success with
back to back hits like Pasanga and Kalavaani is back
with the film Ethan. The film is produced by ‘Kalavaani’
Nazir under the banner Sherali films and has story,
screenplay, dialogues and direction by L.Suresh. Sanusha
of Renigunta fame is Vimal’s love interest and
Jayaprakash plays a substantial role. The audio launch
of this film was held at Sathyam Cinemas on 18th March
and several important people from the film industry
attended it. Taj Noor has scored music of this film
which contains seven songs.
Balu Mahendra, S.S. Rajendran, Dhananjayan, Vetrimaran,
Cheran, Gaurav, Jayaprakash, Vimal, Sarvajith and
Sanusha were all present at the occasion apart from
the director L.Suresh, producer Nazir and music director
Taj Noor. Veteran director Balu Mahendran released
the audio and S.S.Rajendran received the first copy.
Speaking about the movie, the director said, “In
day to day life, it is common for every man to have
borrowed money at some point of time. There are several
people who are unable to repay the money borrowed
due to various reasons and that affect the life of
the giver and the receiver. This movie will trace
the events that happen when one doesn’t return
the money borrowed. I have tried a comical and light
hearted approach to this subject and it is definitely
going to be different from what the audience has seen
before. The songs are great and there is one song
which is sure to draw the audience to watch the film”
The music director Taj Noor said that there are totally
seven songs of which five are full numbers while two
are short numbers. He also enumerates that they have
done a song that involves mimicry and this is a novel
attempt next only to Kamal Hassan who did something
similar in the 1974 film Aval Oru Thodarkathai. He
has also introduced two new singers with this album.
Taj Noor also vouches for the movie and says that
it is one of those films where a simple story is told
nicely with novelty.
Dhananjayan, the head of UTV-South, observed that
he was supposed to team up with Nazir for the film
Kalavaani but was unable to. He said he regretted
it and he is regretting again for being unable to
join hands with Nazir for Ethan. He told that director
Suresh, who was an associate of Vetrimaran, is extremely
capable and that he has heard the story of Ethan from
him for more than 25 times. He also praised Nazir
as someone who is great with choosing the right film
to produce and publicize it and make sure it gets
the deserved acclaim.
Director Cheran hit the nail on the head when he said
that small budgeted films must come more often for
they have some excellent content and that films like
this are necessary to add goodness to the Tamil film
industry.
At the launch, the trailer of the film was played
and it was very captivating and makes the viewer want
to watch the movie. The songs, by popular opinion,
were also very good and pleasing to hear and some
stay in the mind. |
