Williams defeated fellow countrywoman Coco Vandeweghe 6(3)-7(7), 6-2, 6-3 in the semis. Notably, Williams will face the winner of another semifinal match between Serena Williams of USA and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni of Croatia.
