US President Donald Trump reportedly signed an executive order to withdraw from Trans-Pacific Partnership, former President Barack Obama’s pivot to Asia policy. Dumping the 12-nation trade deal, Trump said, “Great thing for the American worker what we just did”. Notably, Trump, during his presidential campaigns criticised TPP as a potential disaster for US as it harmed the US manufacturing.
