Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in his Republic Day address on Thursday, reportedly announced a total ban on polythene carry bags from May 1 in the state. The move reportedly comes in a bid to conserve environment, protect cows and promote cleanliness. He reportedly added, “Use of polythene carry bags and their littering was affecting environment and cleanliness. Besides, cows were dying eating such bags.”
