According to reports, world's famous Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati has over Rs 4 crores of banned Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes from devotees in the past two months. Reports also said that the officials of the temple administration has written to the government and the Reserve Bank of India on the fate of the accumulated scrapped notes and is awaiting a response.
