Former Punjab Chief Minister and Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala has passed away on Saturday in Chandigarh. Several national leaders, including PM Modi, have expressed their condolences. Notably, 91-year-old Barnala was the governor of Tamil Nadu from 1990 to 1991 for about nine months and once again from 2004 to 2011.
