Service tax is reportedly expected to be hiked to 16-18% from the current 15% in the Union Budget 2017-18, scheduled to be presented on February 1. According to reports, tax experts have said that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley may come with the move to take the service tax closer to the tax slabs decided for GST, which is expected to be rolled out from July 1.
