SC refuses PIL to make Hindi compulsory in schools

The Supreme Court has reportedly refused a public interest litigation filed by Ashwini Upadhyay seeking direction to make the Hindi language compulsory for students up to Class VIII in all the schools across India. According to reports, the SC bench led by Chief Justice of India J S Khehar said that they couldn’t pass the order as someone might later demand to make Sanskrit or Punjabi compulsory in schools.
