A State Bank of India branch in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh has reportedly given its customers genuine Rs 2,000 notes without Mahatma Gandhi’s image printed on it. According to reports, the customers, most of whom were farmers in a remote village, approached bank officials, fearing the notes to be fake. Notably, the police sources have said that such defective notes are in circulation in the region.
