A study in journal the Nature Geoscience has revealed that it is the developing nations that suffer from high nitrogen pollution as a result of production for its consumers in rich nations. Fuel combustion and fertiliser use are major factors in production that contribute widely in the increase of nitrogen footprint in developing countries. The study also says, though it is developed countries that are mainly responsible for the high nitrogen footprint, its scars are seen on the developing nations.
