Senior BJP leader Vinay Katiyar, who recently drew criticism for his sexist remarks on Priyanka Gandhi, has reportedly said that the Ram temple matter will always be alive as it is the party’s basic issue. He reportedly said, “It must be raised every time until the construction of the temple.” Notably, Supreme Court has recently ruled that appealing for votes on the grounds of religion, race, caste, community or language amounted to corrupt practice under the election law provision.
