The Railway Ministry has reportedly launched the station redevelopment programme with around Rs 1 lakh crore worth of investments. According to reports, the first phase of the programme includes stations like Chennai Central, Bangalore Cantonment, Visakhapatnam, Howrah and Vijayawada. The expected amenities of the programme are digital signage, self-ticketing counters, executive lounges, escalators, restaurants, malls, theatres and wi-fi facilities.
