PV Sindhu progressed to the second round of the Singapore Open, winning her opening match against 2016 All England champion Nozomi Okuhara, 10-21, 21-15, 22-20 on Wednesday. Whereas India's men's singles players Kidambi Srikanth and B Sai Praneeth won their respective first round matches. Women's doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy also proceeded to the next round.
