The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Monday reportedly said, around 17 lakh deaths of children under the age of five, amounting to a quarter of all global deaths of children, are caused due to unhealthy or polluted environments. The organisation also reportedly added that the causes include unsafe water, lack of sanitation, poor hygiene practices, indoor and outdoor pollution as well as injuries.
