Several people suffered injuries in a police lathi charge during a protest against the opening of a TASMAC in Samalapuram at Tirupur on Tuesday. People were protesting outside a TASMAC shop and requested to close it as it was inside a residential area. Police started lathi charge to disperse the protesters.
