A parliamentary committee on Thursday reportedly gave its approval to the amendments proposed by the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2016. Notably, the bill bats for "self- perceived" gender identity for transgender people. Other than this, the bill also seeks to grant reservations for the transgender people.
