The Indo-Swiss mixed doubles pair of Leander Paes and Martina Hingis was knocked out of the Australian Open after losing in straight sets to the Australian pair Sam Groth and Samantha Stosur. Groth and Stosur defeated Paes and Hingis 6-3 6-2 to enter the semifinals of the tournament. Paes, who partnered Brazil's André Sá for men's doubles, was earlier knocked out from the tournament after a straight sets defeat in the opening round.
