Calling the ‘Y’ category security to rebel leader O Panneerselvam to be unnecessary, the AIADMK Amma faction has criticised that O Panneerselvam remains in the “clutches of saffron camp as a remand prisoner.” Party mouthpiece Dr Namathu MGR carried an article which said, “It is similar to providing Y and Z category security cover for leaders of RSS and other affiliated groups.” It further alleged that the Centre wants to keep the ‘jackal’ under its surveillance with armed protection and to ensure it does not get away from its scanner.
