The average level of noise pollution exceeds allowable limits in seven cities of the nation covering Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, the government reportedly said on Monday. This was revealed through the data gathered from a network of 70 noise-monitoring stations under National Ambient Noise Monitoring Programme. Notably, the data included noise due to horns, air conditioners, refrigerators, and gen sets.
