Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das has said that the government has no ideas to introduce new 1000 rupee notes for now. Das also added that they are currently focusing on ramping up the production of 500 rupee notes. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a ban on 500 and 1,000 rupee notes on November 8 last year.
