In response to an RTI query, the RBI on Tuesday admitted that it had no confirmed data on the number or value of fake currency detected since Modi government’s demonetisation move last year. The query sought information on fake notes detected, and the name of banks, among others between November 8 to December 10, 2016. Earlier, RBI refused to disclose information about consultation undertaken before the demonetisation announcement.
