Nine years ago, the Indian Under-19 cricket team lead by current Indian skipper Virat Kohli, on March 2, 2008, defeated South Africa in Kuala Lumpur to lift their second U-19 World Cup. Batting first, India were bowled out for 159. SA needed 116 to win from 25 overs as rain curtailed the match but ended up falling short at 103/8. Notably, the 2008 world cup squad included batsmen Rohit Sharma, Manish Pandey, Abhinav Mukund, Manoj Tiwary and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
