An official statement from Kashmir police on Sunday cited 300 WhatsApp groups of mobilizing stone-pelters to disrupt the operation of security forces. According to reports, each of the 300 WhatsApp group has around 250 active members. The statement also said that more than 90 percent of these WhatsApp groups has been shut down in the last three weeks. The state government is also reportedly in the process of giving counseling for the group administrators.
