The free offers provided by Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio have reportedly cost the government nearly Rs 800 crore in revenue. Telecom Secretary JS Deepak has reportedly addressed TRAI explaining how government revenue from license fee fell from Rs 3,975 crore in June quarter to Rs 3,186 crore in December quarter. He also asked TRAI to restrict the promotional tariffs period offered by telecom companies.
