The Indian Railways will reportedly manufacture its trainsets in Chennai that can run at up to 160 kmph. This comes after the failure to gain positive response over the manufacturing of trainsets through a global bid. Named 'Train-2018', the first such trainset is expected to be ready in 2018. Notably, a trainset has coaches that are individually powered by a propulsion system, eliminating the need for a locomotive.
