Non-profit organization Amnesty International on Tuesday reportedly announced that India had awarded 136 death sentences in 2016. According to reports, the President of India had also rejected the mercy petitions of six death row prisoners in 2016. Notably, the number of the death sentence given by Pakistan has come down by 73 percent.
