BL Agarwal, a senior IAS officer from Chhattisgarh, was arrested by the CBI on Tuesday for allegedly paying a bribe of Rs 1.5 crore to overhaul a bribery case against him. Notably, Agarwal faces a case of him allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 45 lakh, ten years ago. Interestingly, he becomes the second IAS official to be booked by the CBI for corruption in over a week.
