Former Australia captain Ian Chappell backed Murali Vijay on the controversial catch. Vijay claimed that he took Josh Hazlewood's catch off Ravichandran Ashwin's bowling on the 3rd day of the recently concluded 4th Test match at Dharamsala. The appeal was overruled by the third umpire which led to Steve Smith’s emotional outburst. “I think Vijay took the catch. Cameras do lie and umpires should go with the on-field call on such occasions,” said Chappell.
