Haryana to release Vultures fitted with satellite transmitters into wild

Haryana Forest Department is planning to release eight vultures in captivity, fitted with satellite transmitter into the forest. The state forest department has deposited the required fee with the Union Ministry of Telecommunication, and the frequencies on which the satellites would operate will soon be issued. During the 45-days test, the vultures had successfully started locating food and water and was flying very high. This was the first time the reintroduction of vultures into the wild was successfully implemented. Notably, Haryana is the first State to implement this process in the Country.
