Melbourne became the first city to install female figures at traffic signals as a part of gender equality campaign on Tuesday.  This was implemented for the international Women's day. The aim is to move towards one-to-one male and female representation across the state of Victoria. Fiona Richardson, Minister for Women reportedly said it would make public space more inclusive of women.
