A 72-year-old Vile Parle resident was duped of Rs 41.94 lakh after a fraudster posed as a UK-based businessman and promised Rs 16 crore as a cash gift. The victim used to transfer money to three different accounts named by the fraudster. The fraudster befriended the old woman on Facebook and duped of her entire life's savings in the fraud. The victim filed a complaint after she realised she was being duped. Cyber police reportedly arrested Shabuddin Shaikh (23) and Gulzar Shaikh (24) and the court remanded them to police custody on Monday.
