After the opposition parties wrote to Election Commission and President Pranab Mukherjee to stall the Modi government’s budget presentation on February 1, Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi reportedly said that the poll watchdog will take a call on due course. The opposition alleged that the BJP may use the budget presentation to lure voters by offering sops, which is against the model code of conduct.
