Disabled people may not stand during national anthem: SC

The Supreme Court exempted the categories of persons with disabilities from standing during the national anthem before the screening of a film on Tuesday. Earlier, the SC had ordered that every person has to stand during the screening of national anthem. The Union of India is also considering not making it mandatory for people who have cerebral palsy, Parkinson disease, muscular dystrophy and other categories of disability to get up during the national anthem before the screening of a film.
